No Oscars for you! ‘Deathly Hallows – Part 2’ absent at the Academy Awards

The film hailed as “monumental cinema” and a “genuinely terrifying spectacle” (in a good way) went completely unnoticed at this year’s Academy Awards.

Before the awards on Sunday night, the Harry potter community had some high hopes on bringing home a golden statue, but they left the award ceremony empty-handed. The film was originally nominated in three categories: Art Direction, Special Visual Effects and Makeup, winning none of them. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 lost out to Martin Scorsese’s HUGO, which went home with Special Visual Effects and Art Direction, and The Iron Lady, the film that won the award for Best Makeup.

This leads the whole fandom and film fellows to face a most disappointing fact; the Harry Potter films never won a single Oscar. This realization has been hard for many, and hundreds of fan opinions on the snub were splattered across the Internet. Here are some that you might want to read:
