Major Pottermore Updates: CAPTCHA and House Points fixed

Pottermore did some major updates to the site today, fixing CAPTCHA and adding the house points you earned pre-House Cup to your total.

All you bot-busters (anti-cheaters) will be happy to hear that CAPTCHA has been fixed! It is now impossible to avoid the CAPTCHA field before dueling, as some users have been doing. The CAPTCHA is the fill-out you encounter before you duel where you have to type different letters, words, numbers, etc. It helps to stop users from using a machine while playing a game. Cheaters have been avoiding the CAPTCHA by closing and reopening an Internet window, but they can no longer do that.

Secondly, Pottermore has added the house points you earned before the House Cup to your personal total. You can find out the total number of points you earned by visiting your profile.

We will have to see if Pottermore will be giving us a Chamber of Secrets progress update. Stick with us to find out if they do.

    • The bot basically is a script that runs a loop… so when executed, it would, for example, duel 5 times, close the window, reopen it, and repeat the process. This script could run overnight and accumulate points for the user. Changing it so that they can’t reopen the window and bypass the Captcha makes it so that the script can’t run continuously in the background. The script can’t read what the Captcha says, it can only execute commands… so it has to be a human typing in the correct words.
