Aiming at a new generation of adult readers, Bloomsbury announced today that they would be re-releasing the adult editions of the Harry Potter books with new covers in paperback.
The new covers feature a mix of old and new, with a modern color scheme and font on top of beautifully drawn sketches. They were done by artist Andrew Davidson and “feature his beautiful woodcut style.”
The covers for the first three books, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, and Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, were revealed today and can be seen below.
According to J.K. Rowling’s Facebook page, the first three books will be in stores from July 18, 2013, followed by the next two on August 15, 2013, and the final two on September 26, 2013.
Scholastic is also re-releasing their editions of the Harry Potter books, with the third book’s cover being unveiled today and the fourth tomorrow.
