And the winner is… Hufflepuff! Congratulations badgers!
Here are the final standings:
1st Place: Hufflepuff – 24,915,860 points
2nd Place: Slytherin – 24,865,387 points
3rd Place: Gryffindor – 24,610,105 points
4th Place: Ravenclaw – 24,567,337 points
The race was as close as ever, but ultimately Hufflepuff House came through at the last minute and sustained their win. Slytherin was not too far behind, Gryffindor was third, and unfortunately Ravenclaw came in last – better luck next time! This is the first time Hufflepuff House has won the Cup, and we’re sure the Badgers are very happy to bring the Cup home!
In honor of Hufflepuff winning the cup, Pottermore has transformed the previously purple Great Hall banners into a beautiful gold. You can see how the Great Hall looks in the picture above.
For winning the House Cup, Hufflepuff will be receiving early access to the first installment of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire once it is available. (Can you believe that we’re already on book four?!) The details of the release will most likely be released very soon, so stick with Pottermore News for the latest updates.
The announcement of the fourth House Cup winner thus marks the start of a new competition. Good luck to all the houses in the fifth House Cup!
