Illustrated ‘Harry Potter’ book details revealed including price, number of illustrations

Amazon.com has added the fully-illustrated edition of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone to its website, with the feature revealing new details about the book.

The most important detail in the synopsis is the number of illustrations in the book — over 100. Judging by the number of chapters in the first book, that’s about 5 artwork per chapter.

From Amazon:

The beloved first book of the Harry Potter series, now fully illustrated by award-winning artist Jim Kay. For the first time, J. K. Rowling’s beloved Harry Potter books will be presented in lavishly illustrated full-color editions. Rowling herself selected artist Jim Kay, whose over 100 illustrations make this deluxe format as perfect a gift for the child being introduced to the series as for the dedicated fan.

The Amazon listing features a black book cover for now, with the title and publication date as well as the ribbon “Final Cover to Come”.81GlgImbM9L

Earlier this week, publishers of Harry Potter revealed four new images from the book, featuring Draco Malfoy, Hermione Granger, Ron Weasley, and Rubeus Hagrid.

The book is 256 pages, about 70 pages less than the US hardback edition. It’ll be interesting to see how the book will be spaced out with the text and the illustrations. It is priced at $30.74, with retail price at $39.99. The book will be published in hardback on October 6, 2015.
