Finally, two years after the initial annoucement, we have an air date for the television adaption for J.K. Rowling’s novel, The Casual Vacancy.
On Twitter, a BBC publicist confirmed the air date for the BBC One series — Sunday, February 15 at 9:00 p.m. — after a BAFTA screening of the show last night. Not much is known about the event, but cast members were in attendance to talk about the show. Others who were in attendance tweeted positive thoughts.

Last year, we learned that the show will air in three, one-hour episodes on BBC One in Britain and HBO in America. There is no concrete US air date at the moment, but the Guardian reports the show will air in the spring.

In promotion for the upcoming series, Little, Brown released a television tie-in edition of The Casual Vacancy. Significantly, this is the first J.K. Rowling book ever to be released as a tie-in with media. The cover can be seen here.
