Our Harry Potter page offers a complete overview of the Harry Potter series, from the books to the films to the theme parks.

The Harry Potter series is an international bestselling book series by author J.K. Rowling. At first glance, it is the story of a boy wizard who goes off to wizard school in a castle where he takes courses in magical subjects like Potions and Divination, plays a magical game on broomsticks, and meets a couple of great friends whom with he fights off the evil villain. Though, at heart, it is a classic, epic saga about the nature of death and the redeeming power of love*, making J.K. Rowling’s unforgettable tale one for the ages.

Upon the publication of the first novel of the series in 1997, the Harry Potter series has gone on to spawn a film series, theme park, an exhibition, studio tour, and an online reading-experience, Pottermore. Use this part of the site to find information about all of those mentioned.

*Paraphrased from the website of documentary filmmaker James Runcie. Runcie produced a documentary entitled “J.K. Rowling: A Year in the Life”, chronicling J.K. Rowling’s life in the year of the release of the final Harry Potter book.

  1. I’m Ravenclaw as well (tho Slytherin and Gryffindor were pretty close behind). I always thought I’d be Ravenclaw as I’m bookish and nerdy – and I’m an English major
I’ve taken the test on Pottermore and that put me in Gryffindor which surprised me but everyone else said it made sense. One friend even said I look like a Gryffindor which I find intriguing/puzzling. Still, JKR devised that test so I’m going to call myself a Gryffindor.

  2. Hello there! This is kind of off topic but I need some
guidance from an established blog. Is it hard to set up your own blog?
I’m not very techincal but I can figure things out pretty quick. I’m thinking about creating my own but I’m not sure where to begin. Do you have any points or suggestions? Many thanks
