The cover for Bloomsbury’s new adult edition of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince has been found.
NOTE: The cover has now been officially revealed (on August 27).
The hand-drawn sketch on the cover depicts the frightening Dark Mark clouding over Hogwarts Castle in a beautiful, eye-popping scarlet red. The cover was done by artist Andrew Davidson, who is doing all of the new adult edition covers for Bloomsbury.
The cover for Half-Blood Prince was uncovered on the Bloomsbury Shop’s website by HarryLatino, a Spanish-speaking fansite.
Bloomsbury is re-releasing the adult editions of the Harry Potter novels with all new covers, aiming at a new generation of adult readers. The re-release of the seven books with these covers has been scattered; the first three books were available on July 18, Goblet of Fire and Order of the Phoenix will be released on August 15, with the final two books hitting bookstores September 26.
