BAFTA nominations announced; ‘Deathly Hallows’ nominated for four awards

Earlier today, the nominations for the 2012 Orange British Academy Film Awards (the BAFTAs*) were announced by rising British stars Dan Radcliffe and Holliday Grainger.

As anticipated, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 was nominated in the four following categories: (including the teams responsible for the work)

  • Production Design- Stuart Craig, Stephenie McMillan
  • Sound-  James Mather, Stuart Wilson, Stuart Hilliker, Mike Dowson, Adam Scrivene
  • Special Visual Effects- Tim Burke, John Richardson, Greg Butler, David Vicker
  • Make Up and Hair- Amanda Knight, Lisa Tomblin

Deathly Hallows – Part 2‘ was originally longlisted for seven additional categories, but did not get the nomination. These categories include: Outstanding British Film, Adapted Screenplay, Supporting Actor (Alan Rickman), Editing, Cinematography, Costume Design, and Original Music.

The BAFTAs will occur on the Sunday 12 February at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden, England. They will be hosted by Stephen Fry, and will be broadcast live exclusively on BBC One and BBC One HD with a red carpet show prior to the event, which will be shown on BBC Three.
