New updates for the Pottermore Shop include a new product and page for Harry Potter merchandise

The new and improved Pottermore Shop

The Pottermore Shop was updated this past week with a new product and a page for all Harry Potter merchandise.

Firstly, The Tales of Beedle the Bard has been added to the Shop’s e-book collection and is available to purchase. As you may recall, The Tales of Beedle the Bard was written by J.K. Rowling for her charity Lumos, and was first published in 2008. The book marks the third in the Hogwarts Library Set to be available through the Shop (as e-books). You can find out more about the book on the Pottermore Shop website.

UPDATE: J.K. Rowling has filmed a PSA (Public Service Announcement) to encourage people to buy the e-book of Tales of Beedle the Bard to help support Lumos, Rowling’s charity foundation that works to transform the lives of disadvantage children. Please take the time to watch the video here.

Additionally, Pottermore has added a new page to the site called “All Sorts of Things“. Meant to be a hub for all Harry Potter products, the page features merchandise from two of Pottermore’s partners, Warner Bros. and Sony. Right now, the new Harry Potter Shop by Warner Bros. is being featured. The Harry Potter Shop is also home to Harry Potter merchandise. Ads for the newly-released Wonderbook: Book of Spells are also being run on the Pottermore Shop site.

Interestingly, Sony has also updated their Pottermore page with information on their tablets and readers in relation to Pottermore. It’s very cool and we recommend you check it out.

All these updates could be seen as signs that Pottermore is planning to soon branch out onto other platforms, including mobile apps, enhanced e-books, and more. Pottermore CEO Charlie Redmayne has said multiple times in the past that it is their plan to make the experience available on multiple platforms. He has said he wants the Pottermore Shop to be a hub for all Harry Potter products. These could be the first signs of some major expansions.

In the mean time, take a visit to the Pottermore Shop.
